Challenge day 27

A cause you support :

I volunteer for this amazing NGO called bhumi which works for the development of under privilaged children. The two hours time, every weekend ,that I spend at Sistwa ( this is where I teach kids math) will be  the best time I have in that whole week. Volunteering for a cause teaches you so much than any other thing. Try to do your bit to the society by registering yourself in any NGO or orphanage and be the change that you want to see in future :)

Challenge day 24

One of your best friends and why they are awesome :)

Should I be mentioning one best friend here?
That's partiality . you want me to end up with a fight because of this??
No way.
Listen....
My best friends are awesome because:

They care for me,
They are there when I need them,
They share their lunch box with me, and don't ask mine :D,
They give me loooads of scoldings and a even bigger load of lovings :P
They fight with me but they always love me from their heart,
They are my best friends :) :)

This may seem like a 3rd standard kid's poem but I wrote it instantly .
( I know ,so only it's that bad )
You came to read this blog- so it's your fate ^_^

Travelling to an unknown place all alone or may be with one friend is always in my bucket list :)
I hope that I will do that sometime in future ,
After watching this movie Zindagi na milegi dobara my travelling wish has grown immensely ..
After all we live to eat and visit places only know ?
What say ?
Researchers say that people who travel often to different places have more knowledge and wisdom than the ones who don't. Start saving money for a trip and enjoy it's pleasure :)

Challenge day 16

Five things you'd change in the world :

This is a brilliant question I say !
( never mind , it's just MY blog)

 1.  Pollution- free world. I would like to ban all vehicles in this world :O
 2. Ban exams :D
 3. Make this world greener everywhere irrespective of the place we live in.
 4. Beach in every city !!
 5. Cleanliness everywhere..... :) :) :)

Challenge day 15

A compliment about a friend :

Apologies for not being able to post yesterday. Diwali boss !! So couldn't post it ...
Anyways, If i need to compliment a friend , there are many things.
I would like to say about this very special friend called Usha. She's been my friend since my 6th std and our families are really close too. We live in different cities since 2008 and she always makes it a point to be in touch with me whatever may be the situation. She used to call me once in  week without  fail , even if I missed to do so. You know, these types of friends are really hard to get. In this ego-filled world, when someone makes a sincere effort to be in touch with you and call you as her bestest friend so long and when you also feel the same way, there is nothing wrong in complimenting her right ??

Challenge day 9

Someone you'd like to meet :

Raja sir ♥
The One and only Raja Sir.
IF not him, my life would not have been so beautiful...
IF not him, my most dreadful days would have been nighmares..
IF not him, I would have not known music..
IF not him, I could not have discovered treasures by now..
It is his music, which is my strength and my soul.
I wonder how I discovered his music and started listening to them like crazy. Day after day , day after day , it was only raja sir's music which I was listening to. Nobody introduced me to Raja sir , I found him one day and that's it !
He may look like a swamiji with his white and white attire but he has given the most romantic songs on the earth. If you have not listened to his music and think that they are all "OLD" ones, you are wrong! You are missing out the precious of the prettiest stones.
His music ruled the music era then, rules now and will rule forever..
Western strings and rhythms have become so nearer because of his some outstanding guitar pieces !
O ! You should see him sing. That divine power in him. I attended his concert on April 29th 2012 ( yeah ! I remember the date ) which was to celebrate ,25th year of his very popular wind instrumental album "How to name it ". I consider that as my most blessed day till now. I saw him from a very long distance on stage and that itself is a blessing ! It's been my dream to meet him nearer and talk with him.
Listen to this song from" how to name it " and tell if there is any other better composer in this era !

Challenge day 6

A food you could eat forever :

Why do you make me write about food again and again ?? :)
A food I could eat forever would be home made curd rice !
NO one can ever beat it. You can't find any other food which looks appetizing whenever you see or which can satisfy your hunger instantly.
You don't need to be a cook to make curd rice for yourself, and that's the easiest part !
Curd rice + mango pickle = heaven for me.
My whole of eleventh and twelfth standard wouldn't be complete if I don't include my curd rice and my friend's Tomato chutney : ) :)
This post is making me feel hungry !
Going to grab a quick plate of curd rice , right now.
What about you ??

Challenge day 4

Your dream job :

I have always wanted to be an independent person. Till now I don't know what my dream job is but I am sure that one day I'll figure out that. So many things flood through my mind when I think about my work place in future but I have never had a 9-5 job in my dreams. It would always be something very new and unalike. My dreams were of becoming a writer , IFS , Indian army , an RJ , a singer , a librarian , a tourist guide , an entrepreneur or even a story-teller.
All these dreams have emerged through the things which I love the most. Be it books or stories or music or travelling .Every desire is linked with my interests and that's how to they jump into my dream-job list.
If I get to live any of these dreams, my life would beam with sunshine ! I am not really worried about the salary, at this point of time ,which I might earn if at all I take up these jobs. Only the real passion ans satisfaction matters. Don't you think so ?
My latest addition to this list is to become a teacher. This video below sowed the " teacher " seed into me ! Watch it and stay motivated :) :) See you soon !

Challenge day 3

Someone you are grateful for :

If you ask this question to some random people out there, I bet you, most of them would express their gratitude to their teachers or their parents!
Yes!
I am always grateful for this one teacher because of whom I am ,what I am ,today.
There are so many teachers who have inspired me but this one man was something completely different.

It was a rainy morning and it was my first day at my new school. I was entering my sixth grade. New town, new language, new surroundings, new weather, new school! Everything was new for me that day. Though I missed my old school and friends I was really excited to meet my new class-mates. As I entered my class, I saw that a "sir" was already seated in the class. At the start of the class, I thought he would ask me to come forward and introduce myself ( as I was a new comer) but I later came to know that he was also a new comer to the school! So, he introduced himself . He said that he was our class teacher for that academic year and he would be handling history subject for us and he added that he had finished his graduation just then and it was all new for him , I mean the teaching profession. This induced a sense of belonging towards him and I really liked my teacher , just because he was also a new-comer . This was my first encounter with him.

As, days passed by I started getting inspired by him. The way he used to teach us history and civics was something very unique. Every history class would be interesting and he would take us all to a real-looking scenario. As in, if our lesson is about Chera dynasty, he would first narrate us stories of great kings, show us in the maps where they actually lived and then read the lesson in a narrative style. It all would seem very fascinating. I used to think that I should also become one history teacher some day !

Our class was the naughtiest bunch of kids ever, as our sir gave us lots of freedom to play and chit-chat. Boys of our class started misusing this freedom and turned out to be the rowdies of our school. Our sir was punished for not handling kids properly and so he was replaced by some other miss as our class teacher for the last three months. Till date, I remember how we all cried ( yes! we did) for losing sir as our class teacher and the look on his face for letting him down when we were given that much freedom. After all, he was our loving teacher ! Somehow, we finished sixth grade and it was time for summer holidays. Each of us prayed hard the entire holidays that we should get our history sir as class-teacher for seventh grade. God only knows, how we had the belief, despite doing such a lot of naughty stuffs.

God had really answered our prayers. Our new class teacher was our history sir ! Tears of joy came rolling down. We promised to him that we will be obedient this year and will never lose him at any cost. We kept up our words and really worked hard academically to improve our class's "name" in the school.

He encouraged all of us to take part in several competitions and would give our names by himself ( without even asking us). That's how one day I was informed that I am going to take part in a national-level history quiz and I wondered why sir gave my name but i was all excited. It was the first time I was taking part in a quiz competition. I worked hard to prove myself. Guess, what? I got third pace in my district .. This was where I was totally spell-bound ! He had made me achieve something out of my box ! He truly inspired me. He even fought with me for not getting first rank in the class during my last mid term examination. Usually I was the one who use to get first rank in the class and when he found that my performance had dropped , he was upset! Was I not responsible for this ?? I took it up as a challenge and studied well for my final exams.

After my exams were over , i had got the first place and received my certificate of appreciation. I guess, if not him I wouldn't have cared to study sincerely.... but this was not the thing which made me remember him forever. On the day of my seventh grade results , he gave me a picture of mine which he had drawn ! ( a picture of mine , as if I am writing something - the exact exam time posture) Can you believe it ? I knew he was a great artist but I never knew that he could draw so beautifully. Why did he choose to draw my picture ? I don't have the picture with me now. I gave it to one of my friends and she never gave it back :( but that drawing is still in my memory , new and fresh.

Isn't this enough to be grateful for him forever?? I am still in contact with him and truly respect him as my most beloved teacher ever , Anil sir :)

From left : Usha ( my friend) , anil sir and myself.

I really like this picture which I took on my recent visit to his place.  Such a happy picture. Isn't it ??

Challenge day 2

A song that makes you happy :

Ah! This is a difficult question to answer :| I love so many songs and it is a bit hard to select one.
Each song has it's own power and the way it has an impact on a person differs from one to another.
Song which makes me happy differs based on situations...It purely depends on the mood which I'm in on that particular day !
With every new song I listen,, my " to listen" songs- list gets added up because either the singer or the music director or the classical "raga" of that song or any other thing like the guitarist or the lyrics would have impressed me and when I Google to get info on that particular person or song , I end up discovering more and more songs :) :)
[ Note: This implies only to those songs which really have musicality in it and not the ones which are mere dabban-guthus or songs with no sense, The real waste ones ! ( trust me , only songs of these kind are more liked  nowadays) ]

There is this one song which I "discovered" some days ago when I was surfing about Nivin Pauly  hero of the movie called Neram...
( If you have not heard about the hero or the movie click on the links )
Though this is a Malayalam song I really liked it , actually loved it immediately. I don't know whether it's the visual or the music or the lyrics or some heavenly thing which makes it so god-like to listen. At this point of time , this is the song which makes me happy :) :)
I'm sharing with you all the video of the song here. Ahhhh ... you are going to love it :)

Broken heart

Me and my friend  Akshaya did this one in class with some type of clay ! Some of my friends are attending tribal art classes as a part of our curriculum and they gave us this clay :) :) How cute ? I actually cut that half heart and stuck it in my book but later felt like joining it to the original one again and hence it looks like a broken heart !! We could have written it as S & A but later thought that our hearts should not be broken and named it as B & H :) ;) And for your kind information this is her accounts notebook ^_^
Result : THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU STUDY B.COM, THAT TOO IN MOP !

On what I have been upto

I found this brilliant article in THE HINDU's NXG last Thursday.....If you would like to read it .. click here.

It describes about the challenges few youngsters took to be away from the internet for one week. They took it as a challenge and have spoke about their feelings on how difficult It was to live a NO- facebook, twitter or rather GOOGLE day ! It made me think how addicted we all have become to these sites and immediately decided to take up the challenge..  for 5 days. First day it was a bit difficult for me because I had no other important work to do and if it had been a normal day , I would have wasted hours online. Now , as it was a challenge I tried to find out few different alternatives to streamline my thoughts and time ! My mom was happy to see my data-card missing and my laptop switched off !! I took a brisk evening walk that day and actually could see a different evening out there. There was sooo much time to ponder and waste without doing one work, I actually tried out few homework sums which I would have not done on the other hand. I set up my mind from Saturday, not to use my data-card, no matter what ! I could actually feel a  huge relief... Finally, I felt that there are lots of  things to look at other than the internet and decided to check my online time from then. It is only today , I went online to check my facebook profile and there was nothing important that happened in these 5 days ! How much time I would have wasted without this challenge !! AND what if there is something important is happening in other's life ?? Should we care? After all its our life and we need to concentrate on ourselves. A BIG SALUTE to the one who wrote this article :) It really made me think ! If you are one vetti person like me and if you find that you are always online at one or the other sites , try this challenge today and tell me your experience :)  :)

Aha ! PIZZA :D

Some months ago , I was crazy about this movie PIZZA ! I don't know what drew me soo much towards the movie, but, I was totally mad about this one movie. I wanted to watch this one in theater and that never happened ! ( still I want to do that ) I struggled for nearly two months to grab this one movie and watch it to my heart's content. Though it was not THAT scary, it really was a very good movie ! I was re-watching it again today ... I could still feel the same eagerness and my eyes were beaming with curiosity, though I know the entire story line-by-line :) :) The " nithya " stories, awesome cinematography, wonderful music... I especially like that yellow house where the main couple live. You know, some movies are like that. It gives so much joy and brings down looads of good memories . If you haven't watched this piece , please do that soon :) You'll never regret watching this movie. Now, last but not the least , this song is gona take you on loop ... I totally LOVE it :) :)

On what it takes to be a teenager

Someone said " Ah ! How lucky , you are still a teenager ". Well , if you are an adolescent you could probably relate to my words. It is HARD to be one teenage kid ! Yes, i meant that. I am still a kid but for heaven's sake I don't know why I pretend to be an adult. Things get piled up all together like a tangle and voila , you are struck there without a way out. I do admit that we have loads of perks in this age but the worst part starts when all your positives get angry with you and pull you strongly towards your negatives. You just can't get rid of it ! Often I wonder, " Why can't life be simpler? , Why can't it just be understandable and easy ? " Life starts getting messed up and coiled , more worse than that of the girls on the TV show Pretty little liars . Why do we want to hide secrets and cry over it ? Why can't we just move on ? One second you think whatever you are doing is right but at the same time it feels that you are wrong. Can't we just have a device which will guide us on to the right path? I start questioning myself "Do all my peers undergo the same feeling as that of mine or I am the ONLY ONE ? "

The game that hormones play with us is the most difficult part. OH ! the pain you undergo ! Nobody out there will try to understand the problem and your parents will keep shouting for every single thing you do. All  kinda emotions will take their own turn to hit you badly, one after the other. Especially when you are in between a tangle , you won't be able to look at things normally! You will start acting like the protagonist in the book Life is what you make it . You would want to be a kid but the adult in you will emerge and kill the kid. You know how hard it is ? When you are under the influence of a bad torment , you need a huge amount of courage and self control to push that pain hard and say " I gotta live happily , okay ? Just be away from me ! " It wouldn't listen to your words that easily. Your head will start spinning hardly. You would end up trying all means and modes to get your mind away from the those thoughts . If nothing works, you would write a post like this one and say one final word to the satan in you- " Good bye, for a while atleast ! "

Who is the one ?? :)

I found this post long time back on facebook :) I truly liked it and the words mean soo much !!! So sharing it with you all------
Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life!

Soaking into longing memories :)

There was time, when studying meant just listening to teacher's lecture at school and all the other time would be spent playing with nature and friends. We were a set of seven , all  belonging to almost similar age group 10-13 .You know, going to school was never a burden then. If you get a day off at school, then it was the time for our parents to search us since we used to get lost into the woods!! We did this purposefully...Oh ! How I miss those times when we lived with fruits and water and stolen biscuits from our houses ! I miss the house that we built for ourselves. How crazy we used to be ! Then, there was this one movie named  Mungaru male. It was a Kannada blockbuster of 2006 :)

It was the first movie which all of us watched together in a theater. We had only 2 theaters in our town ! Imagine? 7 kids, (literally we were kids only no? ) going to a movie all by ourselves ,without parents. Ah ! what fun it was :) :) Ticket cost was only 20 bucks for one BALCONY seat. It was a tear jerking movie, indeed ! all the characters and songs still remains evergreen :) I should probably pat myself because I can sing along those songs without a single mistake in the lyrics even now. How can I escape myself from getting soaked into tears when such memories cross your mind? Listening to those songs for the Nth time now.
Here are few of the them... Watch them :) You too might like them :)

Orey the motta talks ! :D ( Only the egg talks)

I have a great deal of friends at college, who speak Malayalam. Two of them being really close to me ( both of them have the same name- Deepika), I asked one of them to teach me one sentence in Malayalam on a daily basis. She is a classical dancer and her eyes are indeed captivating. So, the first sentence I learnt from her was " ninda kannu valara bangnyaytundi" which means that "your eyes are very beautiful". ( all mallus over there, please forgive me if there is something wrong in my Malayalam diction and teach me the right pronunciation) I was extremely happy over learning that sentence and was repeating that line again and again until it got buried into my memory lane.

malayalam :)

Today, I was having a jovial talk about baking stuffs with my friend ak where we discussed about breaking eggs while baking cakes. Deepika entered into this scene and I immediately tortured her to teach another sentence. She asked me as of what to teach. I amusingly replied back to teach " How to break an egg? "
She looked at me bewildered for a second and gave me the mallu sentence " enganaya motta pottikya?". I don't how it is actually derived but I was amazed by the slang ! true ! believe me. Then, I came across another Deepika ( the another mallu friend) by chance and instantly asked her "enganaya motta pottikya?" .She started laughing uncontrollably. My mallu prounciation took her into a laugh riot and I too joined into the riot without any delay! Voila ! This is how I learnt Malayalam today :) :)
Will you teach me മലയാളം ?  It's your turn now ;) ;)

Oh ! How do you find time to read ?

I read a lot !! I love going to library and be back with a new set of books to read for the week :) My eyes would be twinkling with eagerness to finish all those books which I brought and get myself drenched into those characters instantly ! I even manage to read 3 or 4 books at a time :) People often ask me, how do I manage to read books always , that too so many at a time... My answer would be, If you love something, you would find time for that , no matter what happens ! Adding to this enthusiasm, one of my good friends at college gave me some books which she brought at a 1$ sale during her recent visit to US ! Ah ! How generous she was :) thank you , Meena :) :)  Adding some more spice to this , I found out a group on FB named RAPO, where people Read and pass on books :) I loved the concept sooo much and I get books through those CO-READERS also !

This a picture of the books that were lying on my table yesterday :) The top one is one of those 1$ books :D !! IT's Dangerous by Amanda quick. I have finished two of these already ! Life is what you make it and oath of vayuputras :) I didn't find anything really amusing in OOV. The charm which I got in the prior two books of the trilogy was missing ! ( my personal opinion )  and what to say about Preethi shenoy ! She has become my darling ever since I read her Tea for two and a piece of cake ..... :) I totally love the way she writes and this book no step down ! She steals the show :) That is all for today ! Will update you all soon with more great stuffs :)
