Do you know why your tongue tastes bitter when you have fever?
I didn't know the reason ( I am a commerce student u see :P ) , just like every other 21st century kid i googled it up !
Look what i found--------
The high temperature affects the function of parietal lobe, in cerebrum, one of them is 'taster area'. Thus, though the sensoric nerves function normally via the receptor on taste buds, but the brain 'translates' it to something else, then it gives us a bitter sensation or taste.
This mechanism also works in hallucination and delirious during the fever, I mean the abnormal function of 'translator areas', parietal lobe.
So, If you understood this one, well done ! Try to explain me in simple terms. This is one among the zillion reasons why I opted commerce. BIOLOGY, OH ! YOU ARE SUCHA COMPLICATED KIDDO!
Now, the worst part is , only when you have fever and bitter tongue you would feel like eating burger from MCdonalds
and chocolate Doughnuts from donuthouse ! :( :(
